Customer Service Associate

A Customer Service Associate is responsible for processing incoming orders and for providing excellent customer service to our broad range of customers.  This is a seasonal position, with some weekend hours required during the January-April period.  While remote work is a possibility, actual potential for remote work will be assessed individually.  The ideal candidate must possess excellent customer service skills, including the ability to use positive language, attentiveness and adaptability to resolve customer complaints.  Experience with farming, gardening, and/or food is highly desirable.

Fulfillment & Packing Crew Member

Do you want to be part of a fun-loving group with diverse interests, brought together by our common love of growing, on any scale, all while appreciating the importance of sustainable agriculture? Then consider applying to join HMOS Operations by packing, picking, or shipping seed and related products.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented individual with good communication skills and a team player mindset. Candidates will need to be comfortable lifting up to 50 pounds frequently, be on their feet most of the day, use handheld scanners and measurement tools, and perform fine motor tasks efficiently and precisely. Evening and weekend availability is a must.

Wholesale Sales Representative

High Mowing seeks an experienced sales representative to build new relationships and deepen existing relationships with customers, to broaden our exposure, and to grow our revenue. This position is primarily focused on selling to resellers of our seeds through both inbound and outbound channels. 

Responsibilities include maximizing and managing relationships with existing wholesale accounts, as well as building relationships with potential customers and selling wholesale products into new markets. Required skills and qualifications include one or more years of experience as a sales representative, including experience with cold calling. Experience with farming, gardening, and/or food business preferred.

Trials Farm Crew

High Mowing is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented person to join the High Mowing Trials Farm crew. The Trials Farm is 6.5 acres located in Hyde Park, Vermont where the Trials Farm grows field trials to evaluate varieties for inclusion in our product assortment. The Trials Farm grows between 700 and 1,000 individual varieties annually. The Trials Farm Crew will help support the Product and Trials Manager to execute the trials plan developed by Product Development by growing the variety trials in a farm setting and ensuring that accurate, interpretable, and meaningful data is collected to enable informed decision-making. The High Mowing Trials Farm’s ultimate goal is data, rather than produce. As such, the ideal candidate is organized and precise; they are extremely thorough, accurate, detail-oriented and a team player.

Accountant

High Mowing has made significant improvements in our operating systems and financial processes, creating financial tools that allow for collaboration across departments and transparency of financial performance. We are looking for an individual with the training, education, experience, and collaborative communication skills to support the steady execution of our accounting functions and accurate reporting of our financial performance. This position will be responsible for managing the general ledger, generating financial reports, and ensuring compliance with GAAP.

Other responsibilities include timely management of revenue, credits, receivables, payables, and loan obligations, as well as tax filing in concert with the CFO and our outside accountants. While we require weekly in office work, a significant portion can be done remotely. This individual will report directly to the CFO, regularly interact with the CEO and managers/staff throughout the company and be the in house lead for other accounting staff.
