Cold tolerant leafy green with a signature tangy flavor is often considered less a green and more a perennial herb. Sorrel has been growing in popularity as a winter green due to its cold-hardiness and unique flavor reminiscent of kiwi with a lemony zing. Leaves are bright green and slender with long petioles. Plants can be harvested all season long but are best sown in fall for harvest in early spring when tender and mild as a baby leaf green. Leaves grow to 8� long. High in vitamin A and C as well as oxalic acid.
